Adelaide Olympics' junior teams have become a cornerstone of our club’s future, consistently delivering performances that exemplify the very best of youth football.

These young athletes bring a level of skill, dedication, and passion that is truly remarkable.

Week after week, they take to the pitch with determination, showcasing their growing technical abilities, sharp tactical awareness, and an unbreakable team spirit. Their success is not just measured in wins or goals, but in the way they embody the club’s values—playing with heart, respect, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Our junior teams are nurtured by a team of dedicated and experienced coaches who are deeply invested in the development of each player. These coaches focus not only on honing the physical and technical skills of our young players but also on fostering a sense of sportsmanship, leadership, and resilience. The outstanding performances we see from our juniors are a direct reflection of this holistic approach to development.

Throughout each season, our juniors have faced tough competition, yet they consistently rise to the challenge. Whether it’s a last-minute goal, a well-executed defensive strategy, or simply the determination to keep pushing until the final whistle, their achievements on the pitch are a source of immense pride for the entire AOFC community.

The progress and success of our junior teams are a testament to Adelaide Olympic FC’s commitment to investing in the next generation of football talent. We are not just building great players; we are cultivating the future leaders of our club, instilling in them the qualities that will help them succeed both on and off the field. The journey of our juniors is a crucial part of our club’s story, and we are excited to see them continue to grow and excel in the seasons to come.

  • At Adelaide Olympic FC, our philosophy for MiniRoos and Junior teams is centered around fostering a love for the game while nurturing the holistic development of young players. We believe that the foundation of football excellence begins with a positive and supportive environment where children can enjoy the sport, develop their skills, and grow both as athletes and individuals.

    For our MiniRoos:
We focus on creating a fun, engaging, and inclusive experience where the emphasis is on participation, teamwork, and personal growth. Our MiniRoos program is designed to ignite a passion for football in young children, teaching them the basic skills in a way that is enjoyable and age-appropriate.

We encourage creativity on the pitch, the joy of playing with friends, and the excitement of scoring that first goal. Our aim is to build confidence, foster friendships, and instill a lifelong love of the game.

    For our Juniors:
As players progress into our Junior teams, the focus expands to include the development of technical skills, tactical understanding, and a strong sense of sportsmanship. We are committed to helping each player reach their full potential by providing high-quality coaching and a structured environment that balances competition with personal growth.

Our Juniors learn the importance of discipline, perseverance, and teamwork, preparing them for the challenges of competitive football and life beyond the pitch.

At every stage of their development, we strive to create a culture of respect, inclusivity, and excellence. We believe that the lessons learned on the football field such as leadership, resilience, and collaboration, are invaluable life skills that will serve our players well in all areas of their lives.

Through our MiniRoos and Junior programs, Adelaide Olympic FC is dedicated to not only developing skilled footballers but also shaping well-rounded individuals who embody the spirit and values of our club.

  • At Adelaide Olympic FC, our promise to our MiniRoos and Junior players is to provide an environment where they can thrive both as footballers and as individuals. We are committed to nurturing their passion for the game, helping them develop their skills, and guiding them through every stage of their football journey.

    A Supportive Environment:
We promise to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment where every player feels valued and encouraged. Our focus is on fostering a sense of belonging, where young players can build friendships, enjoy the game, and grow in confidence.

    Quality Coaching:
We are dedicated to offering high-quality coaching that is tailored to the developmental needs of each age group. Our coaches are not just mentors on the pitch, but role models who inspire, motivate, and challenge our players to reach their full potential.

    Player Development:
Our promise is to focus on the holistic development of every player. We aim to improve their technical and tactical skills, while also emphasizing important values such as teamwork, respect, and sportsmanship. We believe that football is not just about winning, but about learning, growing, and developing both on and off the pitch.

    Opportunities for Growth:
We are committed to providing opportunities for players to progress, whether that’s moving up to more competitive teams, gaining leadership roles, or exploring new positions on the field. We believe in helping each player find their path and supporting them in their football aspirations.

    A Focus on Fun:
Above all, our promise is to ensure that football remains fun. We believe that the love of the game is the foundation for all development, and we strive to make every training session and match an enjoyable experience.

At Adelaide Olympic FC, our promise is to be more than just a club—we are a community that supports, nurtures, and develops young talent, helping them become not just better players, but better people. We are committed to guiding them every step of the way, ensuring they leave our club with skills, memories, and values that will last a lifetime.

  • At Adelaide Olympic FC, we accommodate a wide range of teams for boys, girls, and some mixed groups, covering age groups from U6s to U16s.

    Team Assignment:
Teams are primarily formed on a first-come, first-served basis, determined by registration order. In cases where we have multiple teams within the same age group, we consider requests for players to be grouped with their friends. However, please note that while we strive to honor these requests, they are subject to availability and may not always be possible.

    Team Formation Based on Ability:
In certain instances, teams may be formed based on players' abilities, at the discretion of the club and coaches. This approach allows us to create a training environment tailored to each player's skill level, ensuring optimal development. While training sessions may occasionally be combined between teams, separating teams for specific drills helps us deliver focused training that best supports individual growth.

    Age Group Qualification:
Players are assigned to their age group based on their age as of December 31st of the previous year. For example, a player in the Under 9s must have been 8 years old as of December 31st last year, meaning they will turn 9 during the year they are playing in. This ensures that players are placed in teams that are age-appropriate, fostering fair competition and development opportunities for all.

  • Off-season training will begin in late October and continue through mid-December.

Pre-season training will resume in late January or early February, with exact dates being flexible based on the coach's preference and the age of the players.

Training sessions for our U6-U9 MiniRoos take place twice a week on Wednesday and Friday evenings, from 5:30pm to 6:30pm.

Our U10, U11 and all Junior squads (U12+) train three times a week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

    U10 and U11 train from 5:30pm to 6:30pm.

    U12+ teams train from 7pm to 8.30pm.

Please note, these times may vary according to the teams preferences and pitch availability.

All Adelaide Olympic FC teams train at our home ground:

APEX Football Stadium (formerly The Parks)
    2-46 Cowan Street, Angle Park

Children are required to wear their AOFC training strips. New players should wear appropriate sports attire until they receive their uniform.

It's essential for all players to have soccer boots and shin pads; without these, they won’t be able to participate in training. Please also ensure your child brings a clearly labeled water bottle to each session.
