Maged Ibrahim appointed 2027 Senior Men’s Head Coach

Adelaide Olympic Football Club is delighted to welcome Maged Ibrahim back to the blue and white, with Maged appointed as our 2027 Senior Men’s Head Coach.

For Maged, the appointment represents more than the beginning of a new coaching chapter. It marks a return to a club that has played an important role in his football journey and a place he has known for more than two decades.

Maged first represented Adelaide Olympic between 2000 and 2005, establishing himself as part of a generation of players who helped shape the club during that era. His time at Olympic included being part of our 2004 NPL Grand Final team, giving him a genuine and longstanding connection to the club.

Now, more than 20 years after first pulling on the Olympic shirt, Maged returns to the club in a very different role.

Since finishing his playing career, Maged has built an impressive coaching career across South Australian football and developed a reputation for strong leadership, high standards and a commitment to building successful senior programs. Holding an A Licence, Maged brings extensive experience across different levels of the game and a clear understanding of what is required to create a competitive and ambitious football environment.

His coaching journey has included guiding Adelaide Cobras to NPL promotion, leading Vipers to a State League 2 Championship and promotion, and most recently being part of Adelaide City’s successful 2026 season, which saw the club claim both the NPL Premiership and Championship.

That experience will now come back to Olympic as Maged takes the reins of our Senior Men’s program for the 2027 season.

His appointment comes at an exciting time for Adelaide Olympic, with the club continuing to build a strong and ambitious senior program and create greater connection across our football pathways. Maged’s experience, leadership and understanding of what it takes to compete at the highest level will be an important part of that next chapter.

Just as importantly, he understands Olympic. He understands what it means to wear the blue and white, the history behind the badge and the importance of the club to its players, families, supporters and wider Adelaide Olympic community. Having experienced the club as a player, he now has the opportunity to help shape its future from the technical area.

Maged’s Olympic story began in 2000. It continued through his playing years, developed through his coaching career and now brings him back to where it all began — this time with the responsibility of leading our Senior Men into the future.
